What is the Mayan abdominal massage?
Abdominal Therapy is a deeply restorative practice rooted in the ancient Maya healing tradition. This gentle, external, and non-invasive massage supports the natural alignment and vitality of the body’s core muscles, connective tissues, and internal organs of the abdomen, pelvis, and low back. Through slow, mindful touch, abdominal therapy helps guide the uterus and other internal organs into their optimal position, correct pelvis and tailbone alignment thereby improving circulation of blood, lymph, and nerve flow while releasing areas of congestion and tension. As these internal systems begin to communicate and move freely again, pelvic pain, digestion, back pain, and reproductive health, are often revitalized in finding balance, acceptance, and support, creating space that allow our bodies to heal.
Each session also includes guidance in a simple self-care routine, to enhance the professional treatments. Some added home support or treatment may be recommended to help facilitate healing such as caster oil packs, vaginal steams, or pelvic support wraps, empowering you to continue nurturing your own well-being at home.
